Did you know, over 100 years ago, the old Shawano Fire Station and jail were located at the corner of 5th and Washington Streets in back of the A. J. Lieg Building? The first photo is the fire station building. The second photo shows one man standing by a horse hooked to the fire wagon and another man wearing a vest sitting atop the fire wagon. Frank Achten was fire chief for about 15 years.
