Huebner’s Ice Cream Factory in Shawano, Wisconsin – yesterday and today.
Huebner’s Ice-Cream Factory was located at 305 W. Picnic Street in Shawano, Wisconsin. The photos from 1929 show their delivery trucks in front of the factory with employees standing next to the trucks. Emil Huebner was the proprietor and Jack Kroenke was the head ice-cream maker. George Huebner was the refrigerator expert and Benny Markenson, Joe and Bill Meyer, and Pete Peterson were drivers. Big “O Meyer” was the ice-cream can washer at age 11.
The business closed in the early 1940’s but the building still exists today and is the home of Ellison Electric Supply Inc. Photos from October 2023 are included for comparison.
